The challenge of the extreme
The competition consisted of a 560-kilometer journey that challenged the limits of the athletes, integrating activities such as mountain biking, trekking, ropes and rowing. Competitors crossed remote landscapes of the imposing Sierra and the mysterious Ecuadorian Amazon, discovering terrain full of charm and biodiversity. The director of the competition, Santiago Lopez, noted that Imptek Huairasinchi ARWC 2024 has been a reflection of courage, ingenuity and spirit of adventure.
"Imptek Huairasinchi ARWC 2024 was an extraordinary display of endurance, teamwork and connection with nature, highlighting Ecuador as a unique destination for extreme sports. This achievement would not have been possible without the support of companies like Imptek, whose commitment to sport and the promotion of our natural wonders drives initiatives that transcend the sport and strengthen our identity as a country," said Santiago Lopez, director of the competition.
A legacy driven by private enterprise
For four consecutive years, Imptek has been the official sponsor of the competition. The company has chosen to support this ultra-endurance sport as part of its commitment to the promotion of sports and tourism in Ecuador. Juan Pablo Sotomayor, Imptek's general manager, highlighted: "We are committed to the growth of the sport and to project Ecuador as a reference in tourism and adventure. This support not only fosters sporting achievements, but also boosts economic dynamism and the promotion of our natural wonders."
The 2024 edition was a resounding success, thanks to the joint efforts of athletes, organizers, volunteers, the public and private sectors who believed in this dream.
