The EFx Emprendedores Ecuador forum serves as a strategic platform for strengthening the link between academia and industry, fostering the development of technical skills and innovative entrepreneurship in the country.
In a context where sectors linked to industry, construction, and logistics account for more than 30% of Ecuador’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), strengthening technical skills and fostering collaboration between academia and industry are key factors for competitiveness and economic growth.
In this context, the presentation by Patricio Crespo, Operations Manager at Saint-Gobain Imptek, provided a clear overview of the challenges and opportunities facing Ecuador’s industrial sector. During his remarks, he highlighted the role of engineering as a driver of productive transformation, noting that operational efficiency and the adoption of technology are key factors in boosting business competitiveness.
One of the central themes of the forum was a discussion of the skills that today’s industry demands of new generations of engineers. In line with this objective, the initiative promotes the comprehensive development of talent through three pillars: design, technical presentations, and oral communication—skills that complement technical training and are crucial in increasingly dynamic and demanding environments.
The event brought together industry leaders who shared their experiences in building and growing businesses, highlighting the need to align academic training with the real demands of the job market.
Imptek’s participation in this initiative reaffirms its commitment to developing young talent and fostering a more innovative, competitive, and sustainable industrial ecosystem. Through these initiatives, the company actively contributes to bridging the gap between academia and industry, promoting solutions that strengthen the present and shape the country’s productive future.
