Imptek trains the Municipal Government of La Joya de Los Sachas to improve road infrastructure

Quito, March 2024 - Imptek, a leader in waterproofing and road solutions, conducted a training session for 26 people from the Municipal Government of La Joya de Los Sachas. This initiative aimed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of staff for the implementation of asphalt emulsions on the roads of the canton.

During two intensive days of training, participants had the opportunity to learn more about Bituminous Double Surface Treatments with Asphalt emulsion, exploring its application as an effective alternative for road construction. An integral part of the program was a visit to Imptek's industrial plant and road solutions laboratory, where detailed training was provided on the processes and components used in the double treatment processes on granular surfaces.

The second day of the training was dedicated to specific aspects of Slurry Seal, a cold-mix asphalt surface; Microsurfacing, which is a high-performance asphalt mixture, used mainly for sealing cracks, aged pavements, etc. It also dealt with bases stabilized with asphalt emulsion, which is a mixture of asphalt with water and a small amount of emulsifying agent.

The day ended with a practical workshop that highlighted how the implementation of these methods and products promotes the development of high quality and sustainable road infrastructure throughout the country. In addition, these trainings contribute significantly to the preservation and maintenance of roads through processes that extend the useful life of asphalts.
