Quito, January 22, 2025 - Saint-Gobain Imptek, a leading company in waterproofing, road and light construction solutions, concludes a successful 2024 in terms of exports, reaching 27% of its total sales, equivalent to approximately 5 million dollars. This result consolidates the company as a reference in its sector, both nationally and internationally.
Despite the country's economic challenges, especially in the construction sector, which experienced a 2.5% decrease as of the third quarter of 2024 according to the Central Bank, Imptek has maintained its clear commercial vision. The company has managed to balance its presence in consolidated markets and has ventured into new territories, which has been key to its expansion.
In the last 10 years, Imptek has shown sustained growth, allowing it to reach Colombia, its main market, which represents more than half of its exports. There are also countries such as Panama, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala and, as of 2024, Mexico and the United States. The main exports to these markets are graveled, self-adhesive and thermoadhesive asphalt membranes.
The strengthening of Imptek's presence in international markets is supported by its track record and strength, which has allowed it to position itself among the 1,000 largest companies in Ecuador, with a turnover of US$18.2 million in 2024. Another crucial factor in this performance has been the strategic alliance with Saint-Gobain, a leading multinational in light and sustainable construction, which was finalized in March of last year.
Optimistic projections for 2025
Looking ahead, the company projects significant growth in international markets. "We are optimistic about 2025, where we project an increase in exports of more than 60%, reaching approximately US$8 million. We leverage on the diversification of international markets, the innovation of our portfolio and the strengthening of our sustainable production," says Alfredo Sanchez, Export Manager of Saint-Gobain Imptek.
