Imptek - Chova del Ecuador held its tenth international distributor convention
June 4, 20221,000 trees were planted in the Pifo sector with the objective of generating a sustained qualitative reforestation.
Quito, 2023 - With the aim of reducing the carbon footprint and with the support of the United Nations Global Compact Network, one of the central projects of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was developed: Siembratón, which consists of reforestation days that bring together the public, private and academic sectors and citizen initiatives that participate in ecosystem restoration in various territories.
Imptek is one of the companies that shares in its corporate philosophy the environmental responsibility of taking care of our common home: the planet. On this occasion, the company that optimizes waterproofing solutions - participated with its employees and family members in the planting of 1,000 trees at the Hacienda Atukpamba, located in the Mulauco sector, between Pifo and Papallacta.
David Zambrano - head of Imptek's integrated management system, mentions the company's satisfaction in participating in this type of initiative and expresses that "the objective is to contribute with a grain of sand to the regeneration of the planet, always aligned with sustainability strategies and environmental awareness by remembering that, at the current rate of consumption, all the resources we use will be exhausted tomorrow; therefore, we must give something back to the planet to somehow make up for all the consumption that humans produce".
In this 3rd Edition of the Siembratón, Imptek with the company of representatives and students from the Johannes Kepler School - institution that leads the SDG #15: Flora and Fauna Terrestrial in the country, highlighted the rural and urban interventions of young students who planted, mapped, monitored and developed tools to disseminate and promote sustained qualitative reforestation.
Hacienda Atukpamba is a protected site that conserves natural species outside of the region, self-sustainable and aligned with the care of the environment by not using chemicals in its planting processes and generating its own compost.
This project channels shared environmental responsibility and promotes cooperation to reach the goals we need as a country to mitigate the carbon footprint, protect and recover terrestrial ecosystems and develop eco-social cooperation to regenerate our planet. As of 2022, 2'070,294 trees have been planted and the global goal of Siembratón and SDG#15 for 2030 is to plant 9'000,000 trees in the country.
