March 24, 2024Imptek-Chova del Ecuador and the Saint-Gobain Group confirm the execution of an alliance agreement whereby the French Group acquires the majority of the shares of the Ecuadorian entity, leader in the waterproofing market in the region.
With a solid track record of innovation for more than 45 years, Imptek-Chova del Ecuador operates a plant in Quito - El Inga and is a source of employment for more than 120 direct and 500 indirect collaborators. The company has been exporting to Latin American markets for more than 25 years.
Thanks to this agreement, the Saint-Gobain Group, with more than 350 years of history and 168,000 employees worldwide, reaffirms its leadership in the light construction markets. Through the acquisition of Imptek-Chova del Ecuador, the Saint-Gobain Group will start industrial operations in the country, adding to its more than 85 years of presence in Latin America, around 22,000 employees and 95 production plants, strengthening its industrial presence with quality and innovative solutions.
This agreement underlines the commitment of Saint-Gobain and Imptek-Chova to industrial growth, job creation and the promotion of solutions for the development of construction.
The acquisition is aligned with Saint-Gobain's "Grow & Impact" plan, which aims to strengthen the Group's leadership in Latin America and accelerate its growth in the region by enriching its range of solutions for lightweight and sustainable construction.
