Quito, June 2023 - Next June 24, 120 adventure lovers will compete one more year in the Non Stop Imptek, a unique race that promises to challenge the limits of the athletes and take them to explore hidden places in Ecuador. Proyecto Aventura, a leading organizer of adventure events is once again planning this competition with the main sponsorship of Imptek - an expert company in waterproofing and asphalt with a firm and constant support to the sport for more than 10 years.
The Non Stop Imptek is a medium distance adventure race that takes place annually and covers a challenging route of between 80 and 100 kilometers. On this occasion, competitors will have the privilege of exploring the captivating lowlands of the Tena, with a special stage that will take them to navigate a river on their route. The natural beauty and demanding terrain will provide an unforgettable experience for all participants.
An intriguing feature of this discipline is that teams will not know the exact route until the very moment of the race. This will add an additional element of surprise and challenge, as participants will have to rely on their ability to adapt and navigate in order to succeed. Athletes will practice various disciplines such as trail running, packrafting, mountain biking and navigation using maps and compasses to overcome obstacles on their way to the finish line.
The teams, made up of 2 or 4 people, will compete in two categories: 8 hours and 12 hours. The competition is based on the ROGAINE mode, which combines the thrill of adventure with the skill of expedition. Competitors will receive a map at the start of the race and must find the most checkpoints (PCs) within the maximum time allotted. The team with the highest score, without exceeding the time limit, will be crowned the Non Stop Imptek champion.
